Communicating with impact and influence is a process. It takes practice, discipline and accountability. This is exactly why our clients attend the Next Level of Mentoring. This work-shop will polish your existing skills and help you master additional advanced skills, from your delivery, framing your message, handling challenging questions and answers, and virtual conversations to mastering visual aids. We’re committed to helping you achieve your objectives no matter what it takes.

We believe the ability to effectively present at your very best requires you to also be effective in your day-to-day communication. Therefore we focus on enhancing communication behavior for all interactions. Whereas other programs ONLY teach presentation, and focus on theory and mechanics that are not natural or conversational, our approach is about mentoring to an individual’s strengths. We successfully accomplish this by giving individuals practical and immediate skills and techniques they can apply in their personal and professional lives, in presentations, meetings, conference calls and face-to-face conversations.

We do not believe there is only one way to communicate, nor do we believe in turning individuals into something they are not. Instead we increase individuals’ awareness and confidence to discover their authentic self; to connect, engage and influence action. Our highly interactive mentoring sessions and workshops focus on professional business communication, including persuasion, influence, listening skills, structure, strategy, delivery, handing questions and answers and visual aids. Through videotaped exercises individuals will see what others see and will immediately be able to implement practical action steps for maximizing their communication behavior and enhance their performance.

We follow the adult learning principle: skill and technique discussion followed by interactive practice sessions of the skills demonstrated, mentor assessment, self-assessment and video feedback.

We take a similar approach to a golf coach during a golf lesson: increasing individual awareness, providing fundamental skills and techniques, and creating opportunities in a safe environment to practice what is or is not effective.

Next Level of Mentoring Agenda

  • Three weeks prior to the scheduled mentoring session, a 30- to 45-minute phone consultation will take place. The purpose of the phone consultation is to identify:
    • Your level of development as a result of your participation in the Executive Mentoring The Power of One Workshop
    • Objectives and expectations to take your communication to the next level of influence
    • Your experience and advancement in the following areas:
      • Writing content for presentations, meeting agendas, organization announcements, discussion documents, etc.
      • Designing visual aid support
      • Interacting with visual aids
      • Meeting facilitation
      • Handling questions and answers, objections and difficult behaviors
      • Influencing listeners during presentations, meetings, sales calls, media interviews, conference calls, webinars and face-to-face conversations

Process

  • You may contact Stacey Hanke Inc. directly (Skype, phone or email) in between mentoring sessions to continue your development.
  • You will be asked to identify a mentor to provide balanced feedback for your development in between each mentoring session. The balanced feedback is consistent with:
    • Your mentoring objectives
    • Action steps identified following each mentoring session
    • Objectives identified prior to the first mentoring session
  • You will receive resources detailing skills and techniques taught during the mentoring sessions. (Participant manual, online articles, videos, etc.)
  • Videotaped exercises are incorporated throughout the mentoring sessions to provide you with immediate feedback and self-assessments. Real world examples are created to illustrate how you can take the skills and techniques you learn and immediately incorporate into your day-to-day responsibilities.
  • Personalized DVDs featuring videotaped exercises will be provided.
  • Following each mentoring session, next steps and an action plan will be prepared – written feedback evaluating your performance and targeted areas where improvement is suggested.

Delivery
We will work closely with you to design your Next Level of Mentoring based on your development as a result of your participation in Executive Mentoring The Power of One.

Videotaped exercises incorporated throughout the workshop provide you the opportunity to practice and apply the next level of influence skills that are taught. (Exercises will be tailored to provide real-world examples.)

Time Frames
1 to 1 for 90 days

  • Three half-day mentoring sessions (up to three hours): one mentoring session a month

1 to 1 as needed

  • 1 to 1 mentoring sessions on an as-needed basis based on your request
  • Sessions are scheduled for up to three hours
  • Maximum of two sessions a month
